a new entry for Villa Bella: a Congress on Rhinoplasty!
“The Big Challenge” will not be a periodic regular Course, as those on breast and face aesthetic surgery, but a unique occasion to celebrate our friend and mentor Valerio Micheli Pellegrini, honourable gentleman as well as one of the fathers of modern Italian Plastic Surgery.
As you probably know, at Villa Bella our aim is to feature simply the best in every field of cosmetic surgery and we promise that this meeting will be one of those few very special events worth remembering.
Rhinoplasty is a fascinating surgery that still remains today as “easy to do, difficult to do well”. Lots of problems, few novelties and a question that prevails: open or closed technique ? Endonasal or transcolumellar access? The goal of both options is the same: a good result for the patient. Our “maestro” Valerio stated that the best technique is the one that each surgeon masters the best. So therefore those who have experience with a certain technique should continue to use it. There are differences however and they are important. The presence of columellar scarring, the use of grafts, the alar cartilage modifications, the sutures and the final results that are aesthetically different in the two techniques in most cases.
So again for those who are just beginning: is the open technique really simpler? We think that the best reply to all these questions is to challenge expert surgeons and compare them, having them operate on similar cases with different techniques, whilst motivating their choices before and during the surgery.
The goal is to give the most sincere answers to those who want to understand, learn or improve. Delivered by the Masters of European rhinoplasty, all with incredible experience in this operation, this Event will be held in Salò, lake Garda, Italy, on October 10,11.
